A. Altough we carry a wide range of superior teas to meet most budgets, it is possible to find cheaper green tea online, for sure. While there are a very few shops selling quality green tea, much of what is being offered is low grade, late harvest, and of mediocre quality. At O-Cha.com, we seek out the unusual, finer Japanese green teas that large corporations do not carry. In short, we seek out "the best". An example would be the fine lineup of teas we carry from "Tsuen Tea", Japan's oldest teashop; in business on the same spot for over 840 years!

Important things to consider when purchasing a green tea are - Which harvest did it come from? What is the repuation of the grower? How fresh is the tea? Since we bypass the multilayered Japanese distribution system by purchasing our products directly from the producer, for what you would spend, you will be hard pressed to buy products of our quality anywhere - including Japan. Our teas are shipped to us directly from the producer as we request them, ususally about every seven to ten days.

Our lineup includes excellent, economical green teas for the beginner, as well as top-of-the-line connoisseur items of the highest quality. Keeping our prices reasonable, while never sacrificing quality, has been our main priority since we started in 1998.
