I have tried many Japanese green teas over the years, and this is by far one of the best I've had. Its sweet, yet strong flavour and beautiful green colour make it a very special tea. In fact, I love it so much, I ordered 2 more packets!
If you're wondering what type of tea to buy this year, consider this one in your top five choices. You won't be disappointed!

I just recieved my YM in shincha form and i must say that the color of tea is fantastic!
Rich green color, not so cloudy as i aspected, but still cloudy enaugh.
I think, that this 2009 YM is more like mid steamed sencha or just less deep steamed one.
I can easilly get 3 cups from this tea, but i would just like to warn you, that brewing of thi sincha, may be more difficult than ordinary sencha (as you tea nerds dont know that :D)

Love the aroma. Freshness is nearly impossible to beat. However, I can get 2 to 3 brews out of this at best. I also find that I have to steep the 2nd and 3rd brews longer than advised to get the full flavor.

I'm quite new to Japanese green teas, but this tea clearly is something special. It has an amazingly green color and smells wonderfull (although most people I know say it smells bad).
It is very easy to brew and the taste is just out of this world.
Will most certantly buy more of this.

I've always held the Yutaka Midori and the Tsuen Kirameki in the highest regard but since I've only had the shincha version of Kirameki I can't compare the two year round. Against all other contenders, the Midori is definitely and consistently my all-time favorite. The only competition I've tried that comes close to this level of quality are the other sencha's purchased at O-Cha. I've tried sencha from many different sources and I am always happy to return to the Yutaka Midori.
I rated the Midori 5 stars in all categories as it has consistently come out on top for the two years I've been drinking it. IMO it's the best sencha all year long!

Seriously, this stuff just rocks. From the dazzling color of the liquor to the vibrant aroma and deep flavor... this stuff impresses.

Easy brew and rich, grassy flavor that produces 4-5 good brews. Additionally, in later brews, the tea becomes pleasantly sweet. Highly recommended.
