Deep flavor with some pleasant citrusy notes. Not so grassy but thats not the aim of this tea. Good on subsequent infusions.

I waited all spring for this Shincha. It is definetely a great tea but I can't say I noticed a particular difference between it and say...the Miyabi. But it is nice to have that fresh smell.

I received this tea for the first time as shincha and it was excellent. It has a nice fresh green aroma and great taste as well. A great tea worth the money!

I find the 2007 shincha to be smooth, sweet and aromatic. It is not grassy or overtly vegetal, but I did not expect it to be. It has justy a pleasant level of astringency. I would say it is not quite as intense as last year, more smooth. It is a nice change of pace in the sencha realm for me, quite different. It is also remarkably green and full in the cup.

It was definitely good, but after many conversations about it, I expected better. I did not find it particularly astringent.

This is probably my favorite tea on this site(its between this and Miyabi). I had the 07 shincha and it was fabulous. It has a deep and smooth flavor that is not overly grassy. The aroma is terrific and I constantly found myself just breathing out of my cup. I have since ordered this sencha and have not been disappointed, while not as good as the shincha it is still an excellent cup.

After tasting early this year the shincha harvest, I ordered the "normal" hatsumi. Nice taste (even for the third brew). A good choice to add some variety to Miyabi and Yutaka Midori.
