A very nice, basic handcrafted teapot from Tokoname Japan. It's wideness makes it especially suitable for brewing gyokuro. Unique to this design is the oval shaped stainless steel infuser screen (see detailed images for a more accurate view.) The infuser screen is curved and is suspended off of the floor of the teapot, allowing the wet leaves to drain completely without remaining wet on the floor of the teapot in between subsequent infusions.

Great teapot, perfect for Japanese green tea. I can definitely notice a difference in taste between this pot and heavily glazed pots.

Advantages: The metal filter does a great job at keeping leaves in the pot and has no signs of rust after one year

Disadvantages: Can sometimes get clogged with tiny leaf from deep steamed green tea.

What a beauty, for sure...Love it.

Advantages: Its a fine piece and for the price.

Disadvantages: The only deficit, i guess, its holds just 7 ounces (210) instead of 11 ounces like indicted.

I am absolutely in love with the design, so beautiful! I got this with my beginner's green tea package and I'm so glad I did, it really makes brewing green tea something special.

Advantages: I bought this for general tea brewing because I'm new to green tea, but the fact it can also brew gyokuro is nice if I decide to try that in the future

Disadvantages: The maximum amount of water it can fill where the pot isn't overflowing is actually 250 ml, so this is better for those who want single servings. A bit of a disappointment because I had wanted the option to have multiple servings as well.

This tea post is (was) advertised as holding 11 ounces. I holds exactly 8 ounces ( 1 cup ).

Cleaning and care directions with the pot would have been nice. I don't even know if the internal filter is removable or how to remove it without damaging the pot.

Nice pot otherwise.
