The Original is Back! Over the last year or so, we were forced to switch from our famous original blend to one that was very similar. Credit must be given to our blenders - they got close. However, while the new version was pretty darned good, die hard fans of the original were not so easily swayed! With the shincha season of 2012 in full gear we are now able to once again purchase from our original supplier one of the best all around green teas we have ever been fortunate to sell.

From the first harvest, a very specially blended sencha from Uji, near Kyoto - This tea is very aromatic and is of the highest quality. If you enjoy a grassy, aromatic green tea, then this is the tea for you. Our current Miyabi was blended especially for us using several varieties of sencha. Miyabi is another great sencha from O-Cha. This green tea is actually green, not yellow like so many others.

The Miyabi is a superb, top quality sencha and a very pleasant diversion from my favorite, the Yutaka Midori.

An awesome tea, so fresh! Deep and dynamic on every aspect. Watch out for the first cup it is a wee bit potent on the caffeine front.

We just added several new features to make your green tea shopping experience a little easier.

1) "Recently Added" A list showing our most recently added, newest products. Located on the left menu area, and also under the "Special" link section near the bottom of the shopping area.

2) "Quick Re-Order" For those who have purchased from us before. After signing in, a list of what you have purchased in the past will come up allowing you to re-order the same item(s) much more quickly without having to search for them. This tea is somewhat particular about temperature and time, so be careful steeping it. Like others, I have found that it does not hold up well to re-steeping, which detracts from its value for me a bit. Nevertheless, the first steep is excellent. Definitely an aromatic tea with refreshing vegetal sweetness. I found the taste to be clean but striking, and the mouthfeel on this one is especially rich. Perhaps I will try more leaf and a lower temperature (160 F?) in the future to get the most out of it.
