Uji Gyokuro "Kame-Jiru-Shi" - Currently one of our very highest quality gyokuro green teas (currently, 7 five-star unsolicited reviews speaks for itself). We obtain this from a rather famous, centuries old firm in Uji City, near Kyoto.  Gyokuro is shade grown before harvesting, giving it a greener color and sweeter taste. Once you learn to make it properly, you wil be hooked for life! As this is an expensive, high quality green tea be sure to read our gyokuro brewing instructions carefully as it is brewed differently than sencha: How to Brew Gyokuro - Step-by-Step Instructions!

I liked this. I am new to this type of tea and diligently followed the brewing instructions.
It has a stong taste of seaweed (which I like) and an almost savory flavour. It is quite unlike any tea that I have tasted, but I enjoy it!

Exquisite...!
I have several Shiboridashis by P. Novak
and I reserve the kamejirushi for these small
tea pots..some may think the price is too high but I disagree..this is to be savored for a a quiet
relaxing moment ..

My first Gyokuro. At first sip, it was new experience on my taste bud. It had a unique earthy flavour ( which was described as umani in the internet ).

A hint of seaweed and rock salt.

The first brew is quite intense, the second brew is somewhat less but still have good flavour.

Can brew up to 4 times.

Advantages: Worth it.

One of the best gyokuros I ever had! Sweet and green, very rich taste. I just received it today and so far enjoyed 4 steepings in my new Yakishimei Shiboridashi tea set. Would recommend to anyone who loves gyokuro tea.

Advantages: I think I'm falling in love with this tea...
