This Mino-yaki houhin gyokuro teapot is made in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Due to it's unique fine stainless steel mesh infuser screen, it can also be used to brew fukamushi and other fine green teas. Since gyokuro should be brewed at a lower temperature, no handle is needed to protect one's hand from the heat. To brew gyokuro properly, compared with sencha, typically double the amount of loose leaf is used. Since gyokuro tends to be the most expensive of all of the Japanese green teas, the use of this small, special teapot for brewing multiple small infusions makes it ideal for gyokuro enthusiasts.
The teapot is small, with the teapot measuring just 9 cm wide x 5 cm tall (3.54" x 2"), and holding 140ml/4.7 ounces of water.
