organic kabusechaOrganic Kabusecha - Grown organic, this green tea comes from the Satsuma area of Kagoshima and is of course harvested from the first round of young leaves. Kabusecha is grown for 14 to 20 days before harvest under 45% shade, giving it taste characteristics of both sencha and gyokuro. A sweeter, less astringent taste than regular sencha, it has a lovely green color. Brew as you would for sencha. Certified organic. As with all of our loose leaf green teas, packaged in nitrogen flushed packaging.

Sitting here with my fist cuppa...brewed at 70 for 1 minute as per instructions. Not a deep green and not a heavy taste. This is lovely balance of grassy and sweet with a background of the "buttery" taste ive become used to with green teas. Excellent stuff. Will be reordering.

I had this tea a few months ago so from notes:
.6g to 1g per 30ml, 65C/90s, 70C/30s and 75C/2min+

I'm generally not a huge Asamushi fans, so between Fukamushi's and Gyokuro's, I found this tea a welcome change of pace. Medium-light body, a mild balanced sweetness. I used lower temperatures with more leaf to get more of 'gyokuro likeness' and slightly higher temperatures and less leaf to get a more sencha taste. Not as fragrant as I was expecting (maybe because I'm not used to organic teas), but an easy drinking good quality tea at an EXtremely good price. I would highly recommend this to anyone new to Japanese teas.

Somewhat roasted taste, not sweet (which I expect from kabusecha). Instead, this reminded me of genmacha.

I'm enjoying the shincha version of this fine tea. This tea is surprisingly strong flavored and delicious. If you like a good, satisfying kabusecha, this is a good one.

I wanted to like this tea, but it is a little too subtle for me after falling for the Kagoshima Sencha Yutaka Midori. I know it is a different category to compare, so I have to be fair and say that by no means is this a subpar tea.
