Handcrafted in Yokkaichi, Mie prefecture Japan, this Banko-yaki green tea set was made with gyokuro brewing in mind. Since gyokuro should be brewed at a lower temperature and with double the amount of loose leaf (usually the most expensive green teas available), the use of this special set is ideal for gyokuro enthusiasts, allowing multiple infusions from the same gyokuro leaf.

How to Brew Gyokuro - Step-by-Step Instructions!

The set is very small, with the teapot measuring just 8.5 cm wide x 5 cm tall (3.46" x 2"), and holding just 100ml/3.4 ounces of water. Includes two small matching teacups and a matching yuzamashi (water cooler) to help lower water temperature. Special grooves in the inner body of the teapot eliminate the need for a filter basket. With perhaps the exception of deep steamed green tea, this tea set could also be used for other green teas.

this set is certainly designed with gyokuro in mind. If you frequently drink gyokuro or drink small amount of sencha on a daily basis, this would be a good set to add to your collection. Its also pretty :)
Very impressed!!

I just got this set and am very impressed with the quality, a real bargain at the price. The pieces are very well-made using a nice coarse clay coated in tasteful celadon glaze. Perfect for brewing small cups of gyokuro. For everyone else's sake, I hope it is back in stock soon.
