All of our green tea teapots are designed and handcrafted especially with green tea in mind and are made in Tokoname Japan, famous for it's ceramics. Most teapots include a built-in, fine, stainless steel strainer which allows the green tea plenty of room for expansion during the brewing process. There are a number of factors to consider when making a purchase of a green tea teapot. For starters, you want to find one that is designed to be used with green tea - there is a difference. Because of the way green tea is made, using other types of teapots will usually result in less than satisfactory results. Green tea often produces very fine particles which requires a stainless steel screen to filter properly. At the same time, the leaves need room to expand. Additionally, the size of a Western teapot is usually too large, while those Chinese teapots designed for oolong tea are usually too small. For Japanese green tea, it's best to stick with a green tea teapot from Japan.
