Improved for 2022!

O-Cha.com was the first internet tea shop to offer Yutaka Midori to the general public outside of Japan and it indeed has proven itself to be a popular choice since introduction. 2022 is turning out to be much better harvests of all teas in general over 2021 and this year we offer a particularly good green tea. 

From the first harvest, a very special sencha from Kagoshima prefecture located at the southern tip of Japan. Kagoshima Sencha Yutaka Midori - Undoubtedly one of our most most popular green teas, this item is definitely a favorite with green tea connoisseurs. This year's version hails from Ei Town. Yutaka Midori is an exceptionally "green" green tea. We urge you to compare this sencha against any of the others available on the internet for it's nice emerald green color, wonderful aroma, and excellent taste. The reviews speak for themselves!

Brewing Notes:  We have recently brought the recommended brew time down to 30 seconds, this tea can be quite bold!

This delightful green tea is grown organically in Shizuoka. Medium steamed, Organic Sayamakaori Sencha is rather bold in flavor and imparts a much stronger than average aroma. The leaf itself has not been particularly finely processed, however once brewed it is very flavorful. Our particular Sayamakaori gives quite a few delicious multiple infusions, more than the average sencha we come across. Very delicious, we predict this will become a favorite with organic green tea enthusiasts. As with all of our loose leaf green teas, packaged in nitrogen flushed packaging.

Grown organically in the mountainous Kirishima area of Kagoshima. This is a rather exclusive product, only the tips of the young tender buds are used. Light steamed, this sencha has a medium body and carries a rather intense, nice grassy aroma and an unusually strong umami flavor. Organic Kirishima Asamushi Sencha has a very nicely balanced astringency, aroma and taste. The quality of this tea got our attention and we decided to carry it for those organic green tea enthusiasts who demand the very best. Very delicious, we are confident you will enjoy this product. Packed with umami and one of our personal favorites, this delicious green tea comes from Kagoshima and is of course harvested from the first round of young leaves.  When we first offered this in 2017, we knew we would buy it the moment we tried it. Organic Sae Midori asamushi is a light steamed green tea of the Sae Midori clone and is somewhat rare to be processed in the light steamed form. This product is both flavorful and aromatic, much more so than the typical deep steamed Sae Midori. If you are a light-steamed green tea fan, you should really enjoy this one.  As with all of our loose leaf green teas, packaged in nitrogen flushed packaging.

Just so you know - This tea is especially good in 2022!

Harvested from the first round of young spring leaves, this 100% Yabukita green tea comes from the Makinohara tea growing district in Shizuoka Prefecture. We recently came across this gem and snapped it up on the spot - this is one very delicous sencha green tea! Sencha "Mio" is medium-steamed has a somewhat more pronounced grassy aroma and taste compared with the average deep steamed green tea and the taste remains on the palate for an extended time.

An overall easy brewer (a teapot for fukuamushi-cha is recommended, however). Be sure to not brew too hot, for too long, or with too much leaf. As with all of our loose leaf green teas, freshly packaged in nitrogen filled bags.
