Chiran Asatsuyu Sencha - From the first harvest, a very special sencha from the very old samurai town of Chiran, located at the southern tip of Kagoshima prefecture Japan. This wonderful tea is a variety of the Asatsuyu breed green tea plant. Compared with most of the other Chiran samples we tried this green tea has deep steamed characteristics to it which gives it an exceptional green color, not to mention an aromatic and unique Chiran taste. Try some today!

Includes 100 grams of tea per package.

A really excellent tea, was I bit skeptical with the leaf particles being so small but was blown away with its aroma, look and taste. The liquor color was a deep cloudy green like it had been mixed with high quality matcha the aroma sublime with hints of fresh spring, grass, and nuts, the taste was sweet with hints of seaweed salty air and velvety coating the mouth with a deep rich taste. By far one of the best Teas I have had.

Very tasteful deep steamed sencha. Will buy it again cause its cheap but tastes as much more expensive Kaoru sencha.

Advantages: Price, taste.

This is the first fukamushi sencha that I try and taste. I've heard that fukamushi leaf is crushed to really small, but the size of them surprised a little, it's dustlike. You don't have to be careful of not crushing tea leaves really.
Packing was really good, the package was really beautiful, and you could smell how fresh the tea is. When I opened the package the aroma just blew my mind.
Flavour is quite sweet and mix of nuttiness and cut grass with some marine and seaweedy notes. Not bitter at all. Tea itself is really cloudy and deep green color, I personally like that cloudiness and tiny leaf particles in my tea. Really aromatic and enjoyable flavour and aroma.
Basicially only bad thing in this tea is that you can't stop drinking this. It so goood. Oishii!

Advantages: Fair price, excellent quality, gives 3-5 steeps, easy to brew, really good cold

Disadvantages: Only for fukamushi teapots, I got hooked

I love the tea from O-cha so much and this is no exception. I see the comment above about Matcha and this tea does have that Matcha like residual at the end of the cup - probably because the tea is quite fine. I really like this and look forward to the end of the cup - especially the first one. The second cup is really lovely, deep green and quite 'thick'. It is quite gentle in terms of flavour/aroma for a Sencha. I like it brewed slightly cooler - at around 70 degrees - than recommended.
