Decent for the price. I have tried to brew it at higher temperatures but the bitterness was not to my liking. However, brewing it at 65 deg. C was more acceptable with hints of seaweed notes.

This is probably one of my favorite varieties of sencha throughout the entire website. Plus, it is organic. I love the fact that this tea is flavorful, yet mild. For me, it's the perfect balance of all green tea qualities. Currently, I'm burnt out on the astringent and harsh qualities of a Yutaka Midori. If you want mild, yet still flavorful, this is the variety to go with.

This is a decent quality Asamushi sencha that is fairly priced. I find the first and second infusions to be quite different in terms of their flavour profile whereas other Senchas seem to start evolving more going from the second to the third steeping. Given its price point, I'd recommend giving it a shot as it does taste nice.

The brewing parameters on the package differ from the one given on the product website. The package recommends:

    77 C / 45 sec (1st infusion), 30 sec (2nd infusion), 1.5 minutes (3rd infusion)

I haven't made this tea yet but it seems like the 2nd/3rd infusion times are in line with what I'd expect for a sencha. However, I'm unsure whether it would be best to go with 45 vs 60 sec for the first infusion.

As this year's version (2015) is a light steamed green tea, you should go with a longer brew time. In this case, 60 seconds or even 90 seconds would be more appropriate.
