From Uji Japan, one of our most popular items. Not to be confused with the "Matcha" used for the tea ceremony, Powdered Sencha is a good sencha that is ground into a talcum-like fine green powder. 1/4 teaspoon in hot water will give you an immediate supply of the healthy ingredients in green tea. Many add this to their shake mixes. Try it today!

I love this tea. I primarily drink it iced by mixing two full teaspoons of powder with a liter of cold water. It mixes well by just shaking the container a bit.

The taste is reminiscent of that of matcha in the sense that it's not particularly grassy like sencha tends to be, but instead is mild and packed with umami.

Also since I figure it could be of use to some: I also gave the organic variant a shot to see if the taste was better, but I liked the taste of this one a lot more.

I add this powdered Sencha to my smoothies in blender, make green tea latte, or just enjoy it by itself with hot water. The flavor is great in any way. Really recommend to try it.

I discovered powdered Sencha tea during a trip to a sushi bar in Tokyo. Back in the US, searching the Internet for a powdered Sencha, I stumbled upon the O-Cha website.

This tea reminds me of the one that I tasted in Tokyo. It has a very nice flavor. I really enjoy it a bedtime ritual.

This sencha is perfect for making "green tea latte" which is popular in Tokyo. Dissolve a teaspoon of Uji powdered sencha in a small amount of hot water, add some almond milk and a little Agave syrup for sweetness then microwave until desired temperature is reached.

This is the best green tea I have ever had!!! It's the real deal, not that brown swill that the supermarkets sell. Cheers!!!

What range of temperature should I brew this?

The brew temperature is not too critical for this product, some people even use this for iced tea.

I noticed you have some teas available for Subscription. I am wondering if you would consider putting the Powdered Sencha as a Subscription?

Does powdered sencha need to be whisked like matcha?

No, you normally just stir it in hot water. This will not actually dissolve however, you should mix it up and drink it relatively soon.

    Hi,

Could you describe the difference between Uji Powdered Sencha and Uji Organic Powdered Sencha in taste and in nutrition.. Which one is beginner friendly?

    Thanks

There is really no difference in taste and nutrition between these two teas, one is organically grown and the other isn't. I can't say one tastes better than the other, they are comparable outside of the organic label.
