Matcha & Gyokuro Prices To Surge
Please Note on Pricing (2025 Update):
Due to unprecedented global demand, Japan’s matcha supply ran out early in 2024. Because both matcha and gyokuro use shade-grown leaves, much of the gyokuro crop is now being redirected to matcha production. As a result, prices for both have increased 2 to 3 times—and even with these higher prices, we’re being restricted in how much we can purchase. These increases are entirely outside our control. For over 26 years, we’ve worked to keep pricing fair, but the era of matcha and gyokuro being available at anything less than luxury pricing now appears to be over. We appreciate your understanding.
