A very nice, basic handcrafted teapot from Tokoname Japan. Unique to this design is the "swing" type of stainless steel infuser screen (see detailed images for a more accurate view.) The infuser screen is curved and is suspended off of the floor of the teapot, allowing the wet leaves to drain completely without remaining wet on the floor of the teapot in between subsequent infusions.

Holds 12 ounces (360ml)

This is an amazing little teapot that brews a tasty cup of tea. The swing mesh design works brilliantly.

Very nice teapot, looks great and is the perfect size for one American coffee cup or two Japanese tea cups.

I'm amazed at how well-crafted this pot is. The lid fits perfectly. The simple style is attractive. Everyone who has seen it has commented on what a nice pot it is. I like the swing mesh that keeps the leaves away from any remaining water at the bottom of the pot. It also pours very nicely.

My new favorite teapot. The wider form seems to give the leaves more space to unfold on making the brew easier. The "Swing" is also an advantage for me who brew up to 3 infusions.

What is the best way to clean this pot? I keep getting small leaves stuck inside the filter and having hard time getting them out.

All you have to do is rinse it out and let it dry thoroughly.

I've used this for deep steam cause I can't read. So what will that do to the pot?

The best teapot for deep steamed green tea is tallier that flat, but nevertheless you can still use this teapot for deep steamed green tea, we use it all the time for that.

I've owned a "swing" teapot for years and just decided to try cleaning it myself... I don't recommend ANYONE to do this, I think I've ruined my teapot :( Is it possible to replace the mesh after removing it from the pot? I can't get it back in...

On most of the teapots, it's *possible* to take it out and put it back in, though not recommended. On this particular teapot, it's especially difficult. I think if you position it right it might be possible, however.

There is not really any need to have these teapots without any staining on the inside, some people actually appreciate the "patina" that can develop over time. However, if you want it spotless inside you can soak it in a mild warm water & bleach solution.

Is it easy to remove the "swing" infuser for cleaning?

It can be done but it's not easy. That said, we've been using one here for years and have never had to remove the screen to clean it.
