Fukamushi Teapot 16437

Score: 5.00. Votes: 2

A very nice handcrafted Tokoname teapot. Perfect for brewing multiple or single cups of green tea, this teapot was designed for deep steamed green tea (fukamushi-cha) but is suitable for all green teas including gyokuro. Unique to this design is the built-in stainless steel infuser screen which covers the inside part of the spout.

I have long avoided pot teapots in favour of the glass ones - which are nice too. However, this is a really pleasing beautifully made tea-pot. The photos don't really do it justice (happy for you to fly me out to Japan and I'll take some more for you!) There's something about the matt texture which makes me want to touch it and the colours - which look a bit drab on the photos are really rich. I've only just got it and will need some tips on looking after it! Do I wash it? Advantages: It's a really beautiful thing  Disadvantages: I guess like all teapots it's quite delicate - but then if you were worried about that you'd probably be drinking PG out of an enamelled mug (also nice on occasions!)

A lovely looking teapot and extremely well made. Pours reasonably well, a little agitation while pouring prevents the leaves occasionally clogging the gauze.
