        • Kabusecha

From the first harvest in Uji. Kabusecha is grown in the shade for 14~20 days before harvest under 45% shade, giving it characteristics of both sencha and gyokuro. A sweeter, less grassy and more vegetal, less astringent taste than regular sencha, you can definitely taste vegetive hints of gyokuro.  It is easy to brew, not overly astringent, medium steamed, has a lovely green color, and is reasonably priced making it an all-around versatile winner of a green tea. Although it has hints of gyokuro, be sure to brew it as you would for sencha, not gyokuro.

          Available in 100-gram packages.

              Sae Midori Sencha

              Available Soon as Shincha HERE

Hey green tea lovers! In case you're not familiar with it, let us introduce you to something truly special: Kagoshima Sae Midori. This first-harvest sencha comes straight from the southern tip of Japan and is a gem that's not to be missed.

We at O-Cha.com pride ourselves on being pioneers, as we were probably the first online shops to ever bring the delightful Sae Midori to tea enthusiasts all over the globe. And guess what? It's been a hit ever since!

Brewing this tea is a breeze! Sae Midori is a unique blend of Yabukita and Asa-Tsuyu tea plants, first registered in 1990. Thriving in the frost-free climes of Southern Kagoshima, this tea boasts a vibrant color and a tempting, sweet aroma that's reminiscent of fresh grass. Just opening the package sends out a wave of scent that's absolutely heavenly. It’s truly a spectacle in green, offering one of the richest emerald hues you'll ever see in a tea.

Here's a little tip: Sae Midori is a deep-steamed green tea with very fine leaves, almost like dust. While you can brew it in various teapots, it shines brightest when made in a teapot designed for fukamushi-cha. Trust us, it makes a difference!

Ready to give it a try? We offer these beautiful 100-gram packages just waiting to be a part of your tea collection. We're pretty sure you're going to love it as much as we do!

                      Daily Sencha Green Tea

While this green tea would be a very good tea for beginners, even seasoned green tea fans appreciate this sencha. One of the few second harvest green teas we sell, we carry Daily Sencha because it is an above average quality sencha and offers a very good quality-to-price ratio. This green tea is far and away better than what you will find at most grocery or health food stores and is freshly packaged in Japan within a very short time of when you purchase it. This item is a blend of green tea leaf from Japan's Southern Kyushu tea growing region. Be sure not to brew with too much heat or for too long or it can be overly bold.

Fresh from Japan, it comes in 100gm (3.52 oz) packaging.
