My first Gyokuro. At first sip, it was new experience on my taste bud. It had a unique earthy flavour ( which was described as umani in the internet ).
A hint of seaweed and rock salt.

The first brew is quite intense, the second brew is somewhat less but still have good flavour.

Can brew up to 4 times.

I stopped searching for gyokuro tea, for me it doesn't have to be better then this.

One of the best gyokuros I ever had! Sweet and green, very rich taste. I just received it today and so far enjoyed 4 steepings in my new Yakishimei Shiboridashi tea set. Would recommend to anyone who loves gyokuro tea.

Currently my favourite gyokuro. Surprisingly green taste and rich texture. I enjoy up to 3 steepings. A MUST for anyone who enjoys a good green tea.

This gyokuro is quite a treat! The flavor of the first steeping was quite intense, but in no way bitter or harsh. The 2nd steeping was more of the same, while the 3rd steeping was more sweet and less vegetal in it's flavor profile, and the remaining steepings of the same flavor profile. The flavor lingers on the palate for a long time and the mouthfeel is thick...almost syrupy (at least with the water I brewed it with.) I'm quite the tea snob, and this is by far the best gyokuro I've ever tasted, and it will go through many steepings before the leaves finally die out (I did 6 steepings before calling it quits!)

It was also nice to see brewing instructions on the package that were SPOT ON for how the tea should be brewed!!! Gyokuro must be brewed with a low water temp!! I've seen the ubiquitous "1 tsp per cup in 175F water for 3 minutes" even for gyokuro, at some of the local tea shops. Brewing it like that would make it undrinkable!

    Mad props to O-Cha

In a word, WOW! I brew this 2 grams per ounce water, it is so rich, sweet, delicious.
