Since 1998, we have offered ceramic teaware primarily as a service to our customers, often at little or no profit, so you could properly brew and enjoy the Japanese green teas you purchase from us.

Unfortunately, changes in international shipping over recent years have made this increasingly difficult. Growing regulatory requirements, higher taxes, and tariff-related fees in both the United States and the European Union—along with the loss of postal shipping options to the U.S., added handling charges in parts of Europe (including France via Chronopost, the UK, and others), and the rising cost of FedEx shipping—have reached a point where shipping heavy ceramic items is no longer sustainable for us.

On top of the tariffs, FedEx now charges us at least $25 just to clear a tariff incuring parcel through US Customs, even if it's a single bar of soap. There is also no postal method of delivery since US tariffs started in August 2025.  We are now completely out of options when it comes to this. 

As a result, beginning in 2026, we will no longer be able to ship ceramic tea ware such as teapots and tea bowls internationally. Instead, we will gladly help guide customers toward trusted, in-country suppliers who can provide these items more efficiently and affordably.
