Delivery Information & Shincha news

Apr 17, 2020

We're finally getting some clarity as to what to expect after being beset by the sudden chaotic shipping situation we encountered as a result of the current worldwide COVID-19 situation.

First, we are still prohibited from sending to 157+ countries, there's nothing we can do about that.

We used to send parcels via ePacket "Light"  which took longer but was cheap.  However, that method has been shut down to ALL countries.  We have decided to completely ditch that method of shipping and don't plan to return to it even after this crisis has settled down. It was proved to be too slow.

Because of the lack of flights, it's now taking about 2 weeks for a regular ePacket (1st class air) parcel to get out of Japan. Once it's in your country, then it seems to be delivered quickly.  Express Mail parcels are given priority but they're not deliverd in 3 to 5 days like during normal times.

If you are in North America, select EU countries, certain parts of Asia, you can order as normal. If you choose ePacket (1st class), expect it will take about 3 weeks or so for delivery.  If you use EMS, it should take about a week.  Slower than normal, but still no problem.

Caveat: The COVID-19 situation within Japan seems like it's about to blow up so all of the above can and probalby will change a week from now.

Lastly, we've got additional shincha samples coming in shortly, we expect to have our first shincha items in about a week.  We're not rushing that this year, our priority is having the best, not having it out first.
