A unique form of first harvest sencha, known as shincha ("new leaf"), is immediately packaged and sold shortly after harvesting without undergoing cold storage, making it available only for a few months post-harvest. It’s worth noting that nearly all our green teas are from the first harvest and are distinctly different from lower-grade, late-harvest teas like bancha or kukicha, though we also offer a selection of second harvest sencha that are still very flavorful.

At O-Cha.com, all our sencha green tea is freshly packaged within a very short timeframe—usually from one day to two weeks—prior to purchase. This quick turnaround is crucial to ensuring the freshness and quality of any green tea.
