Let's be real, while we all love the really expensive matchas, for every day use it's not really necessary or appropriate to use the really high end ones. If anything it's a bit of a sin to use a really high grade matcha when you're making a mousse or a cake. I like this matcha not only because of it's decent price but because it is still one of the best quality matchas available. Quite simply it still beats many other matchas I've tried despite being the cheapest one available on Ocha. You can make traditional matcha tea with it, and use it in lattes and baking. I mostly drink this as a tea in the mornings, but I also use it in cooking with great results. As a store cupboard and lifestyle staple, this is my go to matcha.

I love this product and this company. I did extensive research to find a reputable company I could trust and O Cha has not disappointed once. This specific tea is perfect for someone starting off on their newfound love of organic and healthy teas. The package always gets shipped quickly and arrives on time. The tea is delicious and invigorating. I can't wait to start trying some of the other teas. For now though, this is a quality product with a great price from a fabulous company.

If you drink daily matcha this is a great value. Smells great, very green, decent froth.

I think this is a very good value matcha for the price. I have been trying to go more clean, eating more organic foods. This organic matcha is very fresh and a wonderful start to my mornings, as well as most afternoons. I feel better about having tea that is organic, and you can definitely taste a difference.

Firstly let me say im not an expert on Matcha. What i really like about this Matcha is the high theanine content. For those that dont know about theanine it creates a "relaxed spacioius" effect in the mind. A good counter to the caffine.

Most excellent quality for price. Love the bright green color and fresh vegetal flavor with just a hint of bitterness.  Advantages: Well packaged. Arrives quickly. Quality matcha.

This is a very decent matcha. In terms of price and quality I don't think you can do much better, and this is definitely not a bad place to start for those who have yet to try matcha. It's a bit more bitter, and less complex, than some higher quality (and price) ones for sale here, but it's still makes for a pleasant brew. Advantages: Price  Disadvantages: Can't really think of any, considering what one gets for the price. It's not amazing, but for the price I doubt it can be beaten.

Are your teas and this one in particular radiation tested?

    Oct 5, 2016, 12:03

There is an extremely conservative safety standard of 100 bq/kg radiation set by the Japanese national government for dry leaf. All of our teas are tested yearly by our various suppliers for radiation (and maximum residue levels of pesticides, etc). In all the years we have tested all of our teas, the results have been at or very near zero bequrels radiation per kg, this tea included.

Does it come with a whisk as I see that listed in the details?

    Jul 19, 2016, 16:23

No, you will need a bamboo whisk separately. If you want good results, do not use a metal kitchen whisk, the only kind you should use is a bamboo whisk made especially for matcha.
